Lux-Development deeply regrets to announce the sudden passing away of Jeremy Dootson, devoted Chief Technical Advisor on Project VIE/014 in Nghe An Province, Vietnam. On 9 September 2006 Mr. Dootson sadly succumbed to hepatitis whilst on annual leave at his home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Jeremy was much appreciated for his gentle, tactful and resolutely intelligent way of dealing with professional and private matters regardless of the cultural background. He built a strong team around him in Nghe An and together with his Vietnamese counterpart and great friend, Mr. Nguyen Nam Dinh, won many battles against the every day odds which a rural development project can bring about, especially in rural Vietnam. Jeremy Dootson leaves behind an orphaned project, many bereaved friends and colleagues and a wife and business partner in Thailand, to whom we extend our sincerest condolences.
